Data Architect / SQL DBA

• This position offers the opportunity to work with the latest Microsoft SQL and Data Warehousing Technologies with a team that is implementing High-Performance, Scalable Web & Windows Applications.
• The primary role of this position is the design and maintenance of database schema and data models.
• Will conduct a comprehensive set of unit tests on all reports to ensure that they fully meet the requirements outlined in the report design specification in line with business requirements.
• Should understand not only the technical aspects of optimizing a MS-SQL Server Database, but also to understand the associated applications that are utilizing the database.
• Will provide input to our Software Architects and helping the development team achieve goals.
• Must have Solid experience with Microsoft SQL Server technologies with the ability to write software design specifications.

Responsibilities:
• Interact with Software Architects, Developers, Project Managers, and External Customers.
• Perform Logical and Physical OLTP Schema Design; develop capacity plans for new and existing systems.
• Collaborate on reporting efforts within the BI and data warehouse team.
• Implement SQL Server high-availability solutions including clustering, mirroring, replication and log shipping.
• Continuous communication and collaboration with other development and QA team members.
• Troubleshoot database issues in 24x7 production environments.

Requirements:
• At least five years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2000/2005/2008), Transact-SQL (T-SQL), and DTS/SSIS packages.
• Experience with database tuning and performance optimization.
• Extensive T-SQL Development experience
• Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Experience with process engineering concepts such as UML modeling
• Process oriented, focused on standardization, streamlining, and implementation of best practices
• Bachelor’s Degree Required-Preferably in Computer Sciences/Engineering
