SQL Server DBA / Developer

Overview:
The SQL Database Administrator / Developer who will be involved in managing multiple SQL Databases in a highly dynamic environment. Will work as part of a team in support of operational and project related activities. Will also provide technical and operational support to other departments and teams as required in support of business objectives.

Responsibilities:
·        Supports team in writing SQL Queries. Must have the ability to Create, Tune and Debug SQL Code   (Tables, Stored Procedures, Views, etc…)
·        Performs daily tasks to monitor Development, QA and Production Environments
·        Will Create, modify and maintain SSIS Packages
·        Must have a strong, current knowledge of Reporting and Query Tools and Practices

Requirements:
·        BE or BS Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field.
·        2-4 years of experience in a SQL 2008 environment: Database Administration, Database Tuning, Database Management, Database Security
·        Knowledge of SQL Programming, SSRS and SSIS Packages.
·        Experience with MySQL is a plus.
·        Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
·        MS SQL Certification a plus

This is a Lead Position for our Point of Sale/Point of Service System and requires +/- 10 years of Development experience. Requirements:
·        BS in Computer Science or Related Field, Advanced Degree Preferred

SQL / Application Support Analyst (Melville, NY)

Overview:
National firm is seeking an Application Support Analyst to work within an established Application Management and Support Team to support proprietary application systems. The position will report to the Director of Application Management and Support. Will provide daily support to our internal and client users. The position works closely with all Development/QA, Product and Project Management and will act as a Business/IT Liaison to optimize and streamline user workflows and processes for all of our proprietary systems.

**Must Have Strong, Current SQL Skills

Responsibilities:
·      Provides day-to-day application support to users
·      Assists in implementing integrated solutions with clients and vendors
·      Works with the Application Team to analyze business needs
·      Troubleshoots critical business functions related to customer inquiries
·      Trains internal users on proprietary applications
·      Maintains technical system support documentation
·      Resolves problems, coordinates production issues between the development teams,
     business and other technical teams/vendors
·      Completes periodic checklist for health checks of operation
·      Performs root cause analysis, issue escalation, reports and tracks problems
·      Identifies opportunities to improve the supported applications
·      Assists and/or manages various projects

Requirements:

Overview:
· The IT / Database Specialist will work with Microsoft SQL Server and be responsible for backups, restores, stored procedures, and data mining.
· Will work with Crystal Reports and Crystal Reports Server
· She/He should be familiar with ASP.Net (light exposure is acceptable) to help maintain and create new .Net Applications (VB.Net). Strong .Net experience is a plus
· Must have the ability to learn and become familiar with our ERP system and provide support when needed. Experience with Prophit 21 (Epicore) or related ERP System is desired
