Director, Credit Underwriting & Periodic Review (Island Park, NY)

Director, Credit Underwriting & Periodic Review

Major Payment and Data Processing Firm has an immediate need for a Director Underwriting & Periodic Review to manage all Underwriting and Periodic Review Processes for Direct Acquired Merchant Portfolios.

Responsibilities:
• Perform in-depth credit analysis and write-up findings/recommendations on large new prospect merchant credit applications for both U.S. and Canadian direct acquiring.
• Supervise, review and sign-off on Credit Analyst’s daily work flow and insure adherence to documented underwriting policies & procedures.
• Serve as escalation point-of-contact to communicate with internal and external sales organizations and sponsor banks on all steps of the underwriting process.
• Implement monthly underwriting activity tracking and reporting.
• Insure departmental adherence to internal and external SLA’s.
• Update and maintain underwriting policies and procedures documentation as needed.
• Restructure and proactively monitor problem accounts and negotiate collateral/security as required and insure adequate merchant reserve accounting and reporting.
• Develop and implement an on-going credit-monitoring program (Periodic Review).
• Implement cohesive referral process between underwriting, periodic review and fraud/risk management.
• Implement credit rating system designed to monitor and report monthly contingent risk/revenue exposures.
• Supervise other teammates.

Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related capacity
• The ideal candidate will have Merchant Acquiring experience.
• Proven, current experience in commercial lending or commercial credit card underwriting / credit analysis.
• Strong experience analyzing and interpreting both financial and non-financial information to determine and recommend acceptable deal structures and minimize risk exposure.
• Must have very strong financial statement analysis skills and experience using financial statement analysis software.

Overview
• Will Design, Implement, Maintain and Support solutions in an Enterprise Network environment to support the firm’s systems and applications.
• Will be responsible for meeting project deadlines/timelines in a fast-paced environment (on call 24x7)

Responsibilities:
• Design, implementation, maintenance, and support of local and remote portions of the Enterprise Network.
• Level 3 Technical Support for all Lan/Wan related operations; ongoing support and maintenance of existing Lan/Wan infrastructure including network performance tuning and monitoring, and installation / configuration of communications equipment as required
• Conduct regular security assessments of the enterprise IT environment.

Application Developer
Responsible for applications development, programming enhancements and maintenance for all mission critical application systems.

Responsibilities:
• 45%: Maintain existing programming; 45%: Programming of system enhancements; 10%: Development of technical specifications
Problem Solving: Will be required to evaluate business problems and apply appropriate programming solutions.
Decision Making: Must be able to determine appropriate programming paths to solve business problems.

Sales Engineer

• The Sales Engineer will act as a liaison between Sales, Clients, the Project Management Office, and Development teams.
• Will work closely with Sales teams when working with prospective new clients and/or working with existing clients who have new product/service requirements.
• Ensures the client fully understands the company’s products and service and documents all necessary requirements thus providing a solid foundation for successful delivery.

This position is responsible for supervising all day-to-day payroll and related compensation functions as well as managing The firm’s retirement plan programs. The Manager is responsible for the maintenance of historical compensation information as well as budgeting and forecasting data. Enhancing reporting for Sr. Management and creating efficient processes are also key aspects of the Manager’s function.

Responsibilities:


Payroll Group Oversight
• Supervising and reviewing bi-monthly payroll transmissions
• Reviewing pre-payroll reconciliation and approving payroll transmission
• Ensuring that The firm Payroll is updated to reflect changes in law / as well as any processing changes or enhancements.
• Maintenance of various benefit programs offered to employees as payroll deductions
• Maintain Cognos Reported reporting functionality to ensure accuracy and create efficiency in reviews
• Complete, review and maintain all payroll related Federal, State and Local agency filings
General Ledger
• Review monthly journal entries
• Coordinate with department heads and parent firm on monthly inter-company allocations
• Review monthly allocation amounts and journal entry
• Oversee all compensation related general ledger account reconciliations
• Coordination and management of annual financial audit (compensation items)
Reconciliation
• Perform bi-monthly payroll reconciliation for earnings and taxes
• Perform monthly reconciliation for all general ledger journal entries created
• Perform monthly reconciliation for tax filings
• Perform monthly options exercise reconciliation
• Perform monthly loan payment reconciliation
Retirement Plans
• Relationship manager with the firm’s Retirement Services
• Oversee and perform plan administration functions such as:
o New participant education
o Review of termination documents
o Review of loan requests and status
o Address participant queries
o Calculation and review of quarterly plan contributions
• Review of monthly retirement accrual for financials
• Support Plan Administrative Committee in plan administration and decision making
• Conduct Retirement plan education sessions
• Prepare periodic reports for senior management
• Coordination and management of annual plan audit and Form 5500 filing
Budgeting and Forecasts
• Produce quarterly forecasts for internal management and parent corporation
• Develop, prepare and maintain open headcount and attribution templates

Reporting

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
