Senior Underwriter, Commercial Auto (Island Park, NY 11558)

We are looking for a Senior Underwriter for our Commercial Automotive Division. The selected Candidate will have five years of experience with Commercial Auto and Garage Liability Underwriting.

 

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Must have at least five years of current experience with Commercial Automotive and Garage Liability Underwriting. Current industry experience is a must.
  • Analysis of submissions for acceptability in compliance with the Underwriting Guide and within approved Underwriting Levels of Authority.   
  • Responsible for Technical Risk Analysis
  • Determine and prioritize submissions to be underwritten
  • Responsible for setting up new policies for issuance.
  • Responsible for placing business through the non-admitted market for risks that do not qualify for the firm’s programs.
  • Review, Approve and Process Renewal Policies.
  • Will review and generate Underwriting cancellations. Will review and generate non-renewals
  • Review and rate submissions from states outside of NY and send quotes to Brokers.
  • Review of Loss Control Inspections
  • This position requires extensive interface with Brokers regarding Underwriting issues; will be responsible for building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Will have the proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships

Responsibilities:
Will manage the Full Life Cycle of multiple SAP ERP Projects and take ownership of the Architecture, Solution, Design, Security, and Quality Aspects of the program. Work with Business Stakeholders, System Implementation Partners, and IT Team to develop solutions.
Leverage and apply your proven experience in systems / data analysis, interface design, process orchestration and workflow to develop SAP business solutions. Leverage reusable frameworks and components for migration, conversion and integration to and from legacy, third-party and SAP ERP systems.
Works collaboratively with the business and IT teams to leverage out-of-the-box SAP functionality, evaluate alternatives, close gaps and challenge the need for workflow components.
Provide SAP ERP master data model recommendations to meet high volume and complex business needs.
Provide insight and guidance for day to day operations covering issue prioritization, defect management, and break fixes to ensure high reliability and availability of SAP related systems.
Serves as a technology advocate throughout the IT organization to promote the effective use of ERP solutions, data and architecture.
Manages direct and indirect staff onsite, offsite and offshore to deliver complex business solutions.
 
Requirements:
BS or equivalent degree, certification or experience; Master’s Degree a plus
Must have current experience with SAP integration technologies: Process Integration, Data Services, ABAP, BAPI and IDoc, Process Orchestration (PO) preferred.
Must come from an SAP Development background, not just an analytical background. Must have managed (in a hands-on way) full, global SAP Implementations / Deployments at a large multiple site company from inception to go live.
Must have strong, current experience with development and deployment of Global SAP implementations for SAP ERP Central Components, Business Suite on HANA and/or S/4 HANA platforms.
Will have extensive and current experience with SAP Financials (FI/CO/FSCM), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Material Management (MM), and Master Data Management. Working knowledge of SAP Solution Manager including Transport Management. Working knowledge of HANA.
At least 5 years of experience in the implementation and integrations of legacy, SAP ECC and third party packaged applications
Proven experience managing direct and indirect staff and demonstrable ability to cross train and mentor associates on SAP configurations, technologies and tools.
Some travel (10-20%) of is required.

Overview:

  • The Legal Assistant / Contract Analyst coordinates the flow of our customer’s contractual requirements, supporting the contractual process to ensure effective operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews contractual requests from our Sales Associates and assigns those requests to a member of the Contract Administration Team for review.
  • Research, compile and summarize data and information for various reports. Maintain tracking system for contracts and ensures that contracts are completed accurately. Proofreads and edits documents and all other correspondence.
  • Works closely with Staff Attorneys and the Contract Administration Team to track contractual requests from initial review through execution; schedules meetings and manages calendars.
  • Has daily contact with General Counsel and VP of Sales to coordinate contract approval and execution process for all accounts.
  • Assists with preparation, content development and document organization for training initiatives. Provides general administrative support for the Contract Administration Team including filing documents, and scanning or filing of electronic documents.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Associates Degree or equivalent experience needed. Career focus in Law, Paralegal Studies or related Business preferred.
  • Strong, current skills in technology including Microsoft Office Applications, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe are required.
