MySQL DBA
Overview:
· High Growth, Long
Island based, Leading Edge Technology Firm for the Specialty Retails Space is
expanding.
· We are looking for a MySQL Database Administrator to be
responsible for the day to day support
and maintenance of MySQL as
well with strategic planning for our MySQL
infrastructure.
· Areas Developed
and Supported include: POS, Mobile POS, Merchandising, Loss Prevention and CRM
Systems.
· We are at the
Forward Edge of Cloud-Based Solutions; we provide our clients High-End Enterprise
Wide and Cost-Effective Systems
Responsibilities:
· Absolutely Must have Current, Hands-On MySQL
experience to include:
· Performance Tuning
· Query Optimization
· Capacity Planning
· Performance/Utilization Monitoring
· Replicating/Failover Configuration and
Administration
· Schema Optimization Product Version Management
· Vendor Support Administration
· Database Server System Design Integration with
Commercial Application Servers and Abstraction Products
Requirements:
· Strong,
current MySQL DBA Skills are an Absolute Must Have. If you have other
SQL based DBA skills but are not currently working in a MySQL environment, this
is NOT the position for you.
· Will have strong, current proficiency
w/ UNIX (Solaris) and Linux Operating Systems
· Must be highly proficient with Shell
Scripting
· Must have Excellent English Communication
Skills, both oral and written and the ability to interface and communicate with
both Technical and Non-Technical Users at all levels while presenting a
Customer Focused Attitude
· Strong Project Management / Project
Life Cycle Skills and Experience with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple
projects
· Will have solid Research Skills and the
ability to present well thought out solutions
