Accountant / SEC Reporting Analyst (Charlotte, NC 28078)

Overview:
The SEC Reporting Analyst provides analytical support for SEC filings including quarterly reports on Form10-Q, the annual report on Form 10-K and for the Investor Relations Team regarding press releases and other matters. 
 
Responsibilities:

  • Assists in review of consolidated Financial Statements to be included with SEC filings. Supports the SEC Team in reviewing for adequate disclosure through review of required disclosure check lists.
  • Prepares supporting documentation for SEC filings, including 10-Q, 10-K, etc.
  • Supports Investor Relations department in preparation for and responses to analyst inquiries, events and related activities.
  • Reviews and validates financial information and metrics to be disclosed publicly.
  • Participates in the monthly close with journal entries and workpaper responsibilities
  • Researches the impact of accounting proposals and pronouncements on the Company’s financial position and financial statements.
  • Assists in Company’s preparation for compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes–Oxley Act.
  • Assists in internal and external audits.
  • Liaises with Senior Management, external Accountants and Attorneys.
  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
  • Minimum of Two years of SEC Reporting activities and experience is required. At least two years of Public Accounting experience is preferred.
  • CPA Certification is a deciding plus
  • Strong, current knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles is required.
  • Will have current experience in researching technical accounting issues and making recommendations to management from that research
  • Strong organizational, delegation, leadership, and interpersonal skills are required, as are excellent time management skills
  • Knowledge of SAP or Hyperion is a plus. 
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 15% of the time are required.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communications skills are an absolute must have
