Overview:
Well established,
nationwide B2B Services Firm needs an experienced Pick UniVerse / Java
Developer to create and enhance technical solutions. Working closely with
Business Analysts, the Developer will help define software requirements for
online products, content management systems and business information systems.
We are looking for a creative self-starter who can work well within a team
environment and also as an individual contributor.
Responsibilities:
- Design, Code, Test, and Deploy UniVerse Pick and Java based Applications.
- Customize and enhance existing applications utilizing UniVerse Pick, Java, Python, Perl, and others.
- Write thorough descriptions of system design, program functions, and steps required to successfully deploy business solutions.
- Work directly with team members to analyze requests and constructively provide feedback that meets the requirement.
- Test software through unit testing, test review and analysis, test certification, fixing, and resolution.
- Optimize and performance tune web applications.
- Work without assistance and provide leadership for others.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in a Technology/Mathematics/Science Program; Advanced Degree a plus
- At least three years of experience in a Development role
- Technology Wish-List: UniVerse Pick, JavaScript, Perl, HTML/CSS, Java, Python, C++/C, R, SQL Server, Bash Script, Unix (CentOS/RedHat), and Alfresco Document Management.
- Must have strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Detail-oriented and ability to work collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment with the ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities at any given time
- Excellent English communication skills and ability to interact with colleagues at all levels
- Experience with git, subversion, or Jenkins a plus.
- Insurance industry experience a deciding plus
This is a permanent, full time position. All
