Accounting Manager, Hauppauge, Long Island

ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Responsible for managing the day to day operations of the accounting department. Must have demonstrated solid management skills and have a proven track record of managing a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Monitor daily operating activity of Accounting Department
• Processing payroll
• Preparation of monthly financial statements, general ledger analysis and reconciliations
• Compile and reconcile monthly financial snapshot
• Manage cash/cash reporting
• Preparation of monthly and quarterly sales tax returns for various states
• Work with external auditors
• Special projects and other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting
• Must have 7+ years accounting experience
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of management experience
• Highly motivated
• Strong initiative
• Payroll processing experience (knowledge of Millennium software a plus)
• Proficient computer skills including Excel (Solomon experience a plus)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Good understanding of all accounting functions
• Ability to multi task in a fast paced accounting environment
